Oh! Gives Back
Giving back to the community through dance
The BAA works to give back to the community. Over two hundred scholarships, totaling more than $500,000, have been awarded to aspiring students; students who are entering the professional ballet companies, like Ballet West. The Ballet Arts Academy has donated 2000 tickets to performances to the underserved families in the community since 2011; many which described the experience as “The theater was transformed into a night of dreams come true”.
The BAA volunteers annually to present dance lecture demonstrations in public schools throughout the community. Through the volunteer endeavors, the Ballet Arts Academy educates the community with stories told through dance, music, lights, and costumes. The community is learning about the special art of training to become a dancer from the class room to the stage.
The BAA not only makes a positive impact on the community, but on its students. BAA students graduate at the top of their classes. Several are now in college on dance scholarships. One young dancer has been offered a company position with one of the top 10 ballet companies in the US. As the BAA graduates more students, these numbers will grow.
